Sure/Cut™ abrasives continue to outperform competitors
Harsco Environmental’s Sure/Cut Velocity™ and Sure/Cut Edge™ are two high-performance and environmentally friendly abrasives that underwent years of research, development and testing.
The abrasives are available in various grades and packaging options to ensure the cleaning and consumption rates, as well as the cost per square foot are optimal. As part of Sure/Cut testing, the product grades’ cleaning rate and consumption rate were evaluated.
How did Sure/Cut Velocity™ test?
When testing the performance of Sure/Cut Velocity™, four product grades were tested: Sure/Cut Velocity™ X-Fine, Sure/Cut Velocity™ Fine, Alluvial Garnet, and 30/60 Hard Rock Garnet.
Presented in order of highest average cleaning rate, X-Fine covers the largest square footage:
The cleaning rate for Sure/Cut Velocity™ X-Fine is 162.40 sq. ft. per hour, and the average consumption rate is 2.41 lbs. per sq. ft. With Sure/Cut Velocity™ Fine, the cleaning rate is 143.04 sq. ft. per hour, and the average consumption rate is 2.62 lbs. per sq. ft.
Alluvial Garner has a lower cleaning rate of 127.89 sq. ft. per hour and a lower consumption rate of 3.21 lbs. per sq. ft. The 30/60 Hard Rock Garnet product grade also yields a lower cleaning rate of 118.52 sq. ft. per hour and a lower average consumption rate of 3.31 lbs. per sq. ft.
What did evaluating Sure/Cut Edge™ show?
As part of the grade testing of Sure/Cut Edge™, Sure/Cut Edge™ X-Fine, Sure/Cut Edge™ Fine, Competitive Copper Slag #35, and Competitive Nickel Slag #4 were evaluated.
Presented in order of highest average cleaning rate, the X-Fine grade, again, covers the largest square footage:
For Sure/Cut Edge™ X-Fine, the cleaning rate per hour is 146.43 sq. ft., and the average consumption rate is 2.39 lbs. per sq. ft. Sure/Cut Edge™ Fine can clean 115.50 sq. ft. per hour and consumes an average of 2.34 lbs. per sq. ft.
In contrast, Copper Slag #35 has a lower cleaning efficiency, at 114.01 sq. ft. per hour and consuming 4.24 lbs. per sq. ft. on average. In addition, Nickel Slag #4 has a lower cleaning efficiency; it cleans 91.90 sq. ft. per hour and consumes on average, 4.40 lbs. per sq. ft.
